FND Resources

Functional Neurological Disorder (FND) is a medical condition in which there is a problem with the functioning of the nervous system and how the brain and body sends and/or receives signals, rather than a structural disease process such as Multiple Sclerosis or stroke. FND can encompass a wide variety of neurological symptoms, such as limb weakness or seizures.

Please keep in mind that the predominant theory of FND in modern medicine discounts the “Conversion Disorder” model of prior trauma being required in someone with FND and it being directly linked to a person’s FND symptoms. FND can occur with or without known trauma. Some information provided through this site may be partially inaccurate as a result of the lack of updates when discoveries are made in FND research.
